SAMUEL C. KANER DIES AT 39

Samuel C. Kaner, 39, of 115 Asbury St., Rochester, a native of Massena, died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. Mr. Kaner had been in ill health with cancer for the past year.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Phillips Memorial Home with Dr. Raphael Escoe officiating. Burial will be in Adath Israel Cemetery.

Calling hours will be this evening at the funeral home. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Margaret and Bruno Romeo, Massena; two sisters, Nancy Rudy, Fairport, and Mrs. Joseph (Jenny) Dougherty, Rochester; and a nephew.

Born March 21, 1953, in Massena, son of Harold and Margaret Murphy Kaner, he was a 1972 graduate of Massena High School and a graduate of Fisher Junior College, Boston, Mass.

Mr. Kaner had resided in Rochester for the past 16 years and worked at Forman's Department Store as an interior decorator. He later established Kaner's Interior & Design.
